Even as many U.S. Hispanics were offended by the Republican candidate’s remarks about Latinos, some still support him. Jaime Steinberg is one of those backing Trump.
Steinberg, 78, lives in the Bronx, New York. A Bolivian by birth, he cannot vote because he is not an American citizen. Nonetheless, Steinberg fully supports Trump’s bid for the presidency of the country the immigrant has called home since he was young.
Steinberg is only one of the many Latinos who say they want change in the United States. For Steinberg, this change will come at the hands of the billionaire magnate.
According to a study by the Pew Research Center, 12 percent of voters are Latino. More than 27 million Hispanics—an unprecedented number—could exercise their right to vote this year.
A Pew survey from October indicated that 19 percent of Latino voters will vote Republican—they will vote for Donald Trump.
